Mandatory Parent & Student Orientation
Monday June 27, 2011, 6-8PM at The City School, 614 Columbia Rd, Dorchester MA, 02125. Directions here.

Opening Retreat for All Students & Staff (required!)
Wednesday-Friday, June 29 to July 1 - 3 days, 2 nights at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy

First Day of the Summer Leadership Program
Tuesday July 5 @ 1pm | Program normally runs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30am to 5pm.

First Day of Student Internships
Thursday July 7 | Internships are Tuesdays & Thursdays, at nonprofits throughout Boston.

Visting Days | July 25 and July 27 | RSVP with Ruby Reyes

Graduation!

The Grads' Program: 2010-2011
Here's a taste of what goes on during this upcoming school year at The City School:

  • Social Saturdays | Drop-In events planned to grow the relationships between City School Grads, strengthen partnerships with other youth organizations, and provide youth with a safe space to have fun.

  • Capoeira Angola | In partnership with Courtney "Zumbi" Grey, The City School now offers free weekly Capoeira Angola classes on Saturday from 12-2:30 PM.

  • Community.Socialization.Investigation | A political study group based on critical thinking, and will help continue on the learning from The Summer Leadership Program

  • Girls Group | As an extension of the Rose from Concrete program, The City School is now open every Friday from 4PM to 6PM for young women. Girls Group is facilitated by The City School's upcoming young ladies and is a forum for discussing social justice issues as they impact women, as well as a spcae where young women can open up to one another and support one another.
